...I don't know how the law would work in that instance, but clearly if the guy had your Z at his house, that's outside the limits of what you signed and agreed to as far as them driving the car. I can see where they'd drive it after the kit was on, to make sure everything is bolted up properly and tightly, but that's a quick test drive up and down the street, at most a couple of miles. If the guy's taking it home, that's out of bounds, and could give you grounds to reduce the cost of the work they are doing for you.
